THE NATIONAL DEMOCRATIC REVOLUTION AND YOU

When ANCYL leader Julius Malema started spouting about “the revolution” some two years ago, most intellectual people just shrugged it off as rhetoric, aimed at the uneducated masses in a way to rally more groundswell support for a less than popular individual, whose mindset was pre-1994.
During Malema’s hate speech hearings he used the phrase “National Democratic Revolution” on numerous occasions, which prompted me to take a little more interest in what he was saying and note of the references made within that context.
My initial reaction to his comments about the ongoing “struggle” and “revolution” was: “What struggle?” and “Why does he need a revolution when we have an ANC-controlled constitutional democracy?”
This is where good old Google comes in handy and a search for the National Democratic Revolution (NRD) led me the ANC website and their Strategy and Tactics (S&T) documents – which were in place long before 1994 and have subsequently been revised a number of times. Boldly stated in the S&T document is the aim of fulfillment of the NRD.
The NRD is not a Malema plan: it is an ANC policy document – probably swept under the carpet by the likes of Mandela and Mbeki – and now with the strengthening of the Communists within the hierarchy of the ruling party, it has found its way back into the mainstream of ANC policy and is being capitalised on by Malema in his quest for power.
The main aim of the NRD is a non-racial democracy – which sounds great on paper – but on closer examination this means that all aspects of control, ownership, management and employment in the public and private sectors should broadly mirror the demographic composition of South Africa’s population – which will take affirmative action and employment equity to a new level.
You have to understand that the term non-racial in this context means “black supremacy” or “African hegemony”, which is supported by both Cosatu and the SACP. Proposed changes to labour legislation will do away with labour brokers and contract workers to make all positions permanent and therefore even more difficult to manage as the workers will now be protected from dismissal regardless of competence or performance.
The “deployment of cadres” policy in key positions in both state and parastatal organisations has to a large degree resulted in the demise of the SABC, the healthcare system, education, the police force and municipalities, most of which are bankrupt and lacking in the necessary skills to run them effectively, and they have been the victims of endemic corruption and misappropriation of funds, while thousands of positions remain unfilled even though there are whites, coloureds and Indians with the requisite skills available to fill them.
If that has been the result without the implementation of the NRD over the past 17 years, what does the future hold?
Well, we have Gugile Nkwinti’s land reform proposals under the Land Tenure Security Bill to start with, which will give unlimited rights for farm workers to build communities, graze livestock and grow their own crops on the farms where they work, thereby threatening the integrity of the farmer’s crops and livestock with the threat of disease and crop infestation through lack of both crop spraying and prophylactic medications. We have lost 80 000 farmers: can we afford to lose any more?
Consider the stated threat by Malema and recent calls for the people to take back the land from the white “criminals” who stole their land – without restitution - despite the fact that the constitution protects the right of ownership of land.
The calls for the nationalisation of mines and more recently financial institutions – all of which is part of the Freedom Charter – see the stronger influence of the communist ideologies of the 1950s coming to the fore. Even the fact that the Soviet Union has collapsed and that China is welcoming capitalism is no deterrent to those in the ANC ranks who still see Marxism by any other name as their salvation.
The suggestion of doing away with the nine provinces and centralising control at government level removes the threat posed by opposition parties to take control of sectors of the country and show up the ruling party, thereby effectively negating any opposition to central government and guaranteeing continued rule.
The Protection of Information Bill, or “Secrecy Bill” as I prefer to call it, is another step towards the abolition of a free press and it would thereby protect corrupt officials and other criminals from being exposed. You would be subject to the “mushroom syndrome”, and journalists who dared to uncover corruption and other sacred cow information - like the arms deal or how much taxpayers’ money was spent on a trip to New York or fancy car hire - would find themselves behind bars with hardened criminals.
You might say: “All of these things are unconstitutional; our constitution will protect us!” But remember a constitution only works if you have a democracy; once you have a dictatorship, that constitution will become null and void and will be replaced by something more suitable to the objectives of the NRD.
The tail is wagging the dog - The unions have placed the president on terms instead of the other way around – the cracks in the tripartite alliance are widening.
I firmly believe that South Africa is at a crossroads in our evolution as a democracy.
If we take the high road and stick to our current macro-economic policies, ease the LRA, let the Land Claims Court do its job, allow a willing seller willing buyer mentality in the redistribution of farmland, weaken the grip that unions have on the economy, encourage foreign investment and let the Communists fade into the background, our future could be very bright – as the 2010 World Cup proved, we have got it!
However, if we take the low road and allow the Stalinist “egalitarian society” envisaged by the NDR to become a reality, we will lose all of our existing skills resources, foreign investment will disappear, education will be dumbed down even further, the new wealthy middle class will lose their wealth and by then it will be too late to change the course of history.
Is this the future you want for this proud nation?

By now more than 95% of cell phone users in South Africa have registered their SIM cards in compliance with the RICA law.
RICA stands for the Regulation of Interception of Communications Act (and Provision of Communication-Related Information Act). The Law was first Gazetted in 2003, Implemented in July 2009 and the deadline for all SIM card registrations was a week ago 30th of June 2011. Failure to do so would result in your legally bought and paid for SIM card being summarily switched off.
The government, in collaboration with all three cell phone companies, MTN, Vodacom and Cell C, basically forced the people of South Africa to register themselves on a death list and hand over their constitutional right to privacy.
People should realize that not a single government has ever cared for it’s people. If they have, then there would be no reason to have a constitution and a Bill of Rights. The constitution and the Bill of Rights is a reminder to the government what OUR rights are. These rights are what they should protect. That is their job. Nothing else. Interfering with the lives and especially the privacy of its citizens is highly unconstitutional and if a government does so, they should be sacked, en masse. The whole shebang.
But it is quite well known that the government wipes their backsides with our constitution. They are forever scheming new ways to undermine the constitution. We have to be ever vigilant and watch the bastards, because if we do not, they will strip us of all our freedoms.
In South Africa Section 14 of the Bill of Rights in the Constitution of 1996 expressly provide that "everyone has a right to privacy, which includes the right not to have (...) (d) the privacy of their communications infringed".
But all the ANC does is to use another section of the constitution to contradict it (which is also illegal. No part of the constitution can be used to contradict another part.)
Chapter 11 of the Constitution governs this duty and authorize the Police, Defence Force and Intelligence Agencies to assist the State in its security obligations.
So in the name of YOUR safety and security, they say it is OK to spy on everyone’s cell phone conversations, emails, etc…just in case there is a threat to YOUR safety.
The only threat their actually is, is if we notice the incompetence and corruption of the ANC Marxist terrorist scum and decide to vote their useless gravy-train arses out of power.
In reality what has been happening is the following:
In order to register your SIM card and your surf stick SIM, and whatever else…You had to provide a utility bill, such as electricity and water account as proof of residence. You also had to provide a copy of your ID.
So where did all the blacks in the shacks in the townships get utility bills from? They have never registered for, nor paid for water and electricity, ever. The shacks have no street names or proper numbers. The ID documents are false.
So in effect all the dumb Whites with cell phones had to prove their residency whilst the blacks could simply orally give their details (any false address).
Now you can call me paranoid if you like, but surely I cannot be the only one who sees where this is leading to and how a totalitarian government such as the ANC can misuse such a law.
They can legally tap your phone, your sms’s your e-mail, without you knowing about it and all they have to do is suspect you from being a threat to the security of the state. They will know your exact address and your registered SIM card will be traced within 20 metres of where you are phoning or blogging from.
Now the ANC regime has said that they will only use this feature in cases of severe crime. Yeah right. Like in 1999 when they used the NIA to spy on the opposition DA party, even inside parliament and beamed a laser onto the window of the DA’s parliamentary room to listen to conversations. They also broke into DA’s houses and offices and stole something like 17 laptops and other information…All in the name of YOUR safety and security. It only stopped when Lindiwe Sisulu (Minister of Information at the time) personally called off the NIA dogs after Helen Zille had a word with her. The DA is the legally voted for opposition party, imagine what they can do to anybody else?
How would the ANC know how to define “Severe Crime”? What is severe crime in the eyes of the ANC when they deny the killing of thousands of white farmers by black criminals and bury the corruption of the arms deal without a proper investigation? To the ANC the only “Severe Crime” is when you oppose them. Those are the people they want to act against. That is the real reason for RICA;
The ANC is in government to stay in government forever. You can bet your bottom dollar that they will introduce laws to ensure they control all opposition and are never challenged.
You can see how they go about when the introduce laws. It is called the “Salami Tactic”. RICA was first introduced in 2003 and a few sheep bleated, but then it quieted down. Then two years later an amendment was made and some more sheep bleated but then it quieted down again. In the last eight years the RICA law has been amended four times, like slicing a piece off a salami little by little until we are here now where the sheep has handed over their freedom and right to privacy completely.
The ANC feels nothing for the freedom of the people. How they can call themselves “Freedom Fighters” is beyond me. All they ever fought for was to take our freedom away.
RICA is just another step in eroding our freedom away until we have no freedom left and are virtual prisoners. In the end we will be so dumbed down that we will believe we are “free”, simply because the ANC tell us so.

There is nothing South African about it. Many countries in Asia have forced people to do this more than 3 years ago. Thailand & Malaysia stated that it was because of mobile phone bombs. Each country has given a different excuse. In Taiwan you need an Alien Resident Certificate just to get a mobile phone plan. They sell top-up cards at the 711 but no SIM without a plan! Its a global issue and nothing South African about it.
When they could not force any longer they came with a new option. 1 hour free mobile phone talk time each month if you buy a pre-registered phone with your internet - dirt cheap. Now that might all be fine and well. Let me tell you how it can be abused.
3 years ago I debated the constitutionality of a law on an Asian forum and 24 hours later the security police called me on my mobile asking about that thread. Point is that globally 'they' are linking your internet movement and mobile phone calls to you.
Youtube and Google is another example where Google Chrome automatically keeps you logged in if you have Youtube open in another tab. They save all your searches. Youtube now wants a phone number they can verify when you open a new account. Match your search's to your home phone number etc. Electronic paper trails.
Here is the bigger problem with South Africa. As long as what your mobile phone has a battery in even turned off the phone can still be tracked via the mobile phone towers. So now we know Jack searches the internet for right wing websites, and last week he spent all his time just outside of Pretoria. From the old SB tactics, they could very easily build a searchable electronic profile for anyone in the country.
They know where you go (phone tracking), what your interests are based on your internet searches and they know where you live. Run a credit check and you know where he works, lives and how much he has in his bank account and who he owes money too.

From the old SB tactics, they could very easily build a searchable electronic profile for anyone in the country.
They know where you go (phone tracking), what your interests are based on your internet searches and they know where you live. Run a credit check and you know where he works, lives and how much he has in his bank account and who he owes money too.

The ANC’s insult to Charlene, Princess of Monaco: Send her a Kortbroek

It has to be the joke of the year. The man who represented the South African government at the royal wedding of our Charlene Witstock in Monaco was no-one else but our very own tourism minister Martinus (Kortbroek) van Schalkwyk.
Apparently the President, Jacob Zuma was too busy in Equatorial Guinea to be bothered with the none-event wedding of a White South African Princess.
I am sure that if Prince Albert married a Black woman the whole of the ANC cabinet would have been there.
Sending Martinus “Kortbroek” van Schalkwyk was a deliberate insult from the ANC. Allow me to explain.
Martinus Christoffel Johannes van Schalkwyk got the nickname of “Kortbroek” (short pants) many years ago when he joined the ANC and some guys accused the baby-faced idiot of being gay. He is married to Suzette and has two children.
He was so offended by the accusations of being gay (closet homophobe, you see) that he said, “I am not gay, I am a real Boerseun (Boer boy), I wear short pants”…
“Ek is nie n moffie nie, ek is ‘n regte Boerseun, ek dra kortbroek.”
Ja, swaer, ons glo jou…
Back then the Afrikaans newspapers were full of it.
The ANC sees him as a traitor of his own people and they have no respect for him. They know he was a former NIA agent in the employ of the apartheid government who sold out his people and his party for a pathetic job in the ANC. They will never trust him.
Most of the time he is ignored and when a shit job comes up, he is the idiot who gets to peel the potatoes, scrub the deck and dish out courtesy sucks to the ANC. He is totally excluded from the money making tendering apparatus inside the ANC.
Sending him to Monaco was an insult to Charlene…a nice Up Yours and Phuq You present from the ANC.
The funny part is that he probably sees it as an honour and a privilege to have gone there, whilst the ANC fat cats are laughing their arses off. What an idiot.

Sunday Times journalist 'a marked man'

Journalists Mzilikazi Wa Afrika and Stephan Hofstatter are being intimidated, the Sunday Times reported.
Wa Afrika said he was tipped-off by sources close to South Africa's intelligence bodies that he was "a marked man" and "hitmen have been hired".
The newspaper had provided extra security for the two men after it became aware, earlier this year, that their movements and their telephone calls were being "monitored".
Wa Afrika said in a sworn statement last week that he had experienced two threatening encounters and had been warned in December that he would be killed by hitmen wearing SAPS uniforms.
Editor Ray Hartley said the newspaper took the threats seriously.
"...It seems that there are some in the security services who are taking this intimidation to a more sinister and dangerous level while political leaders turn a blind eye."
SA National Editors' Forum (Sanef) chairperson, Mondli Makhanya, said: "Intimidatory tactics such as these belong in jackboot banana republics and not in a constitutional democracy such as ours".

I used to think that racism in Africa was the norm. Having lived in South Africa, I was convinced that racism equated to hatred.
But not so. I left South Africa seven years’ ago – not for Australia, or Europe, but elsewhere in Africa.
What I found is that South Africans, whites and blacks, are the most racist people on the continent.
Elsewhere in Africa, black people could care less that you are white, and as a white you could care less that they are black. You deal with people on the basis of personality and ability, not because of race.
South Africa is an aberration. The hatred between black and white is absolutely not normal. South Africa, from a social point of view, is backwards and primitive. The rest of Africa went through the racial process thirty years’ ago. They have long since got over the petty colonialist blame-game. They have stood up and been counted, because they have learnt the value of self-pride.
Not so South Africa. Blacks are stuck in this colonialist nonsense. In the rest of Africa, the first step these countries took was to make sure that their brightest stars were educated at the best universities that the world has to offer. The state paid, and still does.
Unsurprisingly, many returned home to make a living in the country of their birth. Those that didn’t have top jobs at institutions such as the World Bank and top banking institutions. And before white racists call them tokens, they are not. They do fine work.
Now that is pride.
South Africa just does not have it. I think it started with the stupid call of the ‘80s of “pass one, pass all”. That led to intellectual laziness, and worse, putting out brightest stars on a par with the worst.
I don’t think South Africa call heal itself, but if there is any chance, then whites need to go to other countries in Africa and see that racism is a primitive culture.
Black South Africans need to see that their peers elsewhere in Africa have made it for themselves – not be stealing land and other peoples’ businesses, but by putting in the hard work that it takes to succeed in the modern world.

The ANC government is racist in its core - its lying through its teeth that it is combating racism.. It actually PROMOTING racism, because it suits well in order to stay in power.. The electorate is gullible and believes the propagandistic lies of the government, thinking that the government is in favour of the very poor, the black population. Its all about power, and power gives access to money, and they are money grabbers and liars.. they do not stand for the poor. The non-racist people are mostly found in general society - I have met many black & white people who are not racist - but they are not part of the power elite (be it on local government level or any other, higher up)

When I founded the Pro-Afrikaans Action Group (PRAAG) eleven years ago, I never thought that life in South Africa would deteriorate this quickly.
Most whites in South Africa, including Afrikaners, agree today that the future looks sombre. We are discriminated against, robbed, raped and killed in large numbers. Today, we are struggling for our freedom – to gain our own piece of land in this country where we have lived since 1652, almost as long as Americans have been in America.
Without your moral and financial support, we are probably doomed and will have to leave this beautiful country, the jewel of Africa, that our forefathers and we have built up with so much effort and sacrifice.
We fought in the First and Second World Wars on the Allied side, as well as in Korea. Before our army entered Angola in 1975 to confront the Cubans, Russians and East Germans, we were addressed by CIA envoys who assured us that we were fighting for the Free World against communism.
Yet a mere ten years later we were stabbed in the back by the West and forced to surrender to one of the last communist groups left in the world, the ANC and South African Communist Party, who are currently ruling our country.
Our noble and courageous people are now suffering the ignominy of being dominated by a rapacious, anti-white, racist clique. We will never accept being slaves in our land.
Our struggle here is of enormous importance for white, Western peoples world-wide. If we lose, Africa with its 800 million people will be strategically hostile to the West forever. If we win, it will inspire pro-white and pro-Western movements and parties the world over.

Were South African Blacks ever Cannibals?

Ilana Mercer has a new book out. It is called “Into the cannibal’s pot, Lessons for America from post Apartheid South Africa”.
I have not read the book yet, but shortly will.
The title got me thinking...We know of cannibalism in Central and West Africa, but were South African Blacks ever Cannibals? The answer is yes.
It was Felix Dzerzhinsky, known by his nickname “The Red Terror”, founder of the Russian Secret Police, the fore-runner of the KGB who once told a journalist, “Humans are not much more than animals. Starve them enough and they start eating themselves”.
The barbarism and brutality of blacks in South Africa is well known. Who can forget the terrible necklace murders of the 1980’s and the early 1990’s? Who can ignore the Muti murders, thousand of them every year and almost a daily occurrence in South Africa where blacks harvest organs from live people, mostly children to use in witchcraft?
Now I see the necklace murder method is starting to stick out its head again. In the last few days, in Port Elizabeth, four people were killed “necklacing style”. One person had been arrested. Necklacing involves forcing a rubber tyre soaked with petrol over a person’s chest and arms, and setting it on fire. Source Sowetan

During the Zulu king, Shaka’s “Defecane” (the great scattering), he wiped out between two and three million blacks in South Africa. That is right, the biggest killers of blacks in South Africa were always and still are, blacks themselves.
In Peter Becker’s book, Hill of destiny: The Life and times of Moshesh, Founder of the Basotho, he tells the story of how the Basotho king Moshoeshoe founded his hilltop kingdom at Thaba Bosiu (Mountain of the night) in what is today known as Lesotho.
The Sothos were fleeing into the hills to get away from the carnage of Shaka. On page 51, Becker explains why Thaba Bosiu was called “The Mountain of the night”, it is because they reached the mountain during the night after a terrible march during which, Moshoeshoe’s uncle, Peete, was captured and eaten by cannibals...
Say, What? South Africa had cannibals who were so hungry that they were attacking armed black soldiers on the march?
I mean, come on...everyone knows that at the time South Africa was still full of wild animals, no shortage of antelope, why eat humans?
Nevertheless, Allister Sparks writes in his book, The mind of South Africa, on page 103 another shocking reference to this cannibalism amongst black South Africans.
Sparks mentions that amongst others, Shaka scattered the four tribes of the Hlubi, the Ngwane, the Ndebele and the Batlokwa, who became tyrants themselves ruling the Highveld of Transvaal, dislodging even more blacks, driving them up and down and criss-cross over the land, plundering and being plundered. Killing and being killed.
“Not a clan was was left untouched, and across the length and breadth of the central plateau, not a single permanent kraal remained. Cultivation ceased and as food ran out many people crazed by famine turned to cannibalism...”
Then in typical liberal excuse for black behaviour, Sparks continues that it was.”...Something totally alien and repugnant to black South African culture.”
Really? Let us investigate...
He then continues, quoting a Hlubi survivor of the time as he was wondering through the land at the time...
“I was wandering on a path. I saw a man who called to me to stop. He came to me and told me to sit down. He caught hold of my skin mantle. I left it in his hand and ran as fast as I could. He was a cannibal and wished to kill me. Afterwards I met two children...one was dead. The living one was eating the flesh of the dead one. I passed on. Next I saw a company of people digging plants. I was afraid of them and hid myself. When I was still going I saw a long stone wall, not very high. There were people sitting there cooking. I saw human heads on the ground. I took another way and escaped from these cannibals.”
And where was the spirit of “Ubuntu” in South Africa back then? Disappeared off the face of the earth I suppose.
So here we are sitting with a conundrum, a cognitive dissonance, several in fact.
A writer like Allister Sparks wants to convince us that these poor blacks...these extremely hungry and starving people only turned to Cannibalism when they ran out of food, but as I have mentioned, they had their pick of wild animals in their millions, even insects and birds, fish in rivers...there was no reason to turn to cannibalism with such an abundance of food, despite them murdering each other in their millions the animal life survived. Even the Boers lived off the land during the Great Trek.
The bushmen of the Kalahari desert managed to survive in much harsher conditions without ever reverting to cannibalism.
But it is the attack on Moshoeshoe’s army and the capture of his uncle by cannibals that should make us think...
If these Cannibals were poor and starving blacks, they would have been frail, thin and weak, probably poorly armed as well. I accept that they might have been desperate and hungry, but where they stupid enough to take on armed, trained soldiers? Were they strong enough to capture a member of the Royal Family, the King’s uncle who was like his own father to him? I doubt it.
These Cannibals were not starving. They were strong and brutish enough to attack an army of 5000 and take prisoners. They simply loved eating human meat the same way as their cousins from the Congo, where they migrated from.
Today we can only wonder what happened to these Cannibal tribes of South Africa. They were absorbed into other tribes, intermarried and had offspring...
The descendants of these Cannibals are today working in your garden, sitting next to you at university...and taking care of your children.

Cape Town Toddler Killed by Dogs

A 2-year-old boy was mauled to death by dogs in Sweet Farm, Nyanga, on Tuesday, Cape Town police said.
Lieutenant Colonel Andre Traut said the child was playing outside his home when he was attacked by the dogs.
There were no further details available.
An inquest docket had been opened into the matter.AND THIS IS WHAT THEY HAVE RESORTED TO:
A little boy of three was mauled to death after a pack of dogs pulled him out of his home and ripped him to pieces.
Now the angry community of Sweet Home Farm, near Philippi, are targeting every dog they can find.
Some unsuspecting puppies were tossed on a train track and crushed by a passing train, while others were beaten to death with sticks or smashed with bricks.
Even children joined in the bloody slaughter.
The all-out war on dogs was sparked by the killing of the three-year-old Philasande Mbokotho.
He and his older sister Philanathi, four, were playing in the lounge of their shack in Sweet Home Farm at about 9am on Tuesday morning when the dogs attacked.
Their mom Yonela, 19, says she left the kids to play in the house while she went to a nearby toilet.
“While I was away, my friend called to ask where I was because the child was being bitten,” says Yonela.
She says she rushed back but by the time she got to her shack, it was too late.
The young mom seemed dazed by the morning’s horrific events and clung tightly to her daughter Philanathi.
Staring at the spot where her baby was killed, Yonela says: “He was a lot smaller than his sister. I didn’t think to close and lock the door because the children were playing inside the house.”
Dark bloodstains mark the spot in the lounge where the little boy was first attacked.
And a trail of blood shows how the animals dragged his tiny body out of the shack and into the yard.
A neighbour who witnessed the vicious attack says her nine-year-old nephew had just left the shack and came running back within seconds.
“He told me that he had seen some dogs biting a child,” says the young lady.
“When I got there, I saw four dogs all over the boy. Some were biting his head and some were biting his bum.”
The woman says she picked up some stones and threw them at the dogs hoping the animals would leave the boy alone.
“But instead they turned and wanted to attack me,” she says.
“So I picked up more stones and threw them at them again and when they came at me again, I called for helped.”
But by the time they chased the dogs away, Philasande was dead.
Once word spread through the community, angry mobs began hunting down stray dogs.
“All the dogs have to go because we don’t know which ones will attack,” says a woman in the area.
Just a few minutes earlier, a litter of puppies was placed on the train tracks and in the path of an oncoming train by angry people.
The SPCA arrived soon after to save as many dogs as they could.
Police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel André Traut says cops are investigating the incident.
“A toddler boy was bitten and killed by dogs at his (home in) Sweet Home Farm in F section at 9.20am,” says Traut.
“Police are investigating a death inquest docket.”
This is the latest in a series of vicious dog attacks on the Cape Flats.
In one incident, a five-year-old boy had to receive 16 stitches to his face after he was attacked by an unknown dog while eating peanuts in a Mitchell’s Plain street last week.
Just a few weeks before Clayton Malgas’ attack, a disabled teenage boy had to undergo an operation after he was mauled.
Damian Williams, 16, was bitten all over his face and body by pit bulls when he visited a friend in Mitchell’s Plain - the dogs, Xena and Zeus, were later put down.

'We are all settlers in SA'

All South Africans are settlers, regardless of their skin colour, and their DNA carries the proof.
So says Dr Wilmot James, head of the African Genome Project, a distinguished academic, sociologist and, more recently, honorary professor of human genetics at the University of Cape Town.
And he says South Africans will soon have a public genetic database which will show how the country became populated over thousands of years.
The African Genome project is supported by local genealogy website Ancestry24.com
James aims to trace the origins of South Africans "no matter what their language, ethnic origins, or skin colour".
"No one group can lay claim to South Africa. Everyone is a settler, and we will show how people came here in waves of migration."
Next month he and his colleague, associate professor Himla Soodyall, will do mass genetic testing of Capetonians.
Soodyall is the principal medical scientist at the National Health Laboratory Service and is an associate professor in the Division of Human Genetics at the University of the Witwatersrand.
James says he expects about 300 people will come for free testing on September 9. The test simply involves swabbing the inside of a person's cheek.
"Normally it costs R1 000 a time but this is a public exercise in science and a journey through the history of South Africa," said James.
The results will be out early in 2008. The data will be used to map how people migrated here more than 100 000 years ago. They will do similar testing in Johannesburg.
The Africa Genome project aims to fill a gap in the current DNA databases available worldwide and establish the diversity of ancestry in the South African population.
The testing will offer another view of SA history since written history only goes back 400 years. It will also further confirm archaeological and palaeontological evidence.
"We do not understand our history well enough and the truth has been modified in many stories," says James.
"South Africa is not the site of human origins. The Sterkfontein caves have evidence of pre-modern humans, but modern man comes from East Africa where there is evidence of significant human presence dating back at least 100 000."
The Khoi/San moved from East Africa and, up until 2 000 years ago, people living in southern Africa were brown.
Africa's black people are originally from the Niger/ Congo region.
James says genetic testing will confirm the theory that there is a population in South Africa whose ancestors were from Niger/Congo.
Even though the test itself is easy, it is the lab work from where all the exciting details will come to light.
Looking at what is known as mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) which comes from mothers, and Y chromosome DNA which comes from fathers, scientists are able to reconstruct the hereditary lineage of individuals and their families as far back as 100 000 years.
The limitation of this approach is that those ancestors who did not pass on their genes by having surviving children are excluded from the studies.
"Still, we are able to enrich beyond measure our understanding of who we are and where it is we come from," said James.
"Some DNA mitochondria do not combine, they develop mutations which creep in and these are seen as fingerprints. They can be traced to where geographic concentrations of the same mutations occur."
James's own test results have revealed that he has Indian, Spanish, German and English forebears.
His mother's one line is Southern Pakistan/Northern Indian and German. Her father was a Hartel and James still has a title deed handed down from generation to generation for a piece of land along the Liesbeek River granted to German infantryman Wilhelm George Hartel by Cape Governor Simon van der Stel.
It is from Hartel that James inherited Factor V Leiden, a mutation in his genes which has resulted in him having a clotting disorder, making him susceptible to deep vein thrombosis.
His ancestors on his father's side are English; no surprise there, considering his surname. But he emphasises that ultimately everyone's ancestors were Africans, who migrated into Europe tens of thousands of years ago.
His next project will be to concentrate on groups like Italians, Muslims and Jews.
"Italian prisoners of war worked on many of the Cape farms and they had families here. Eventually the project would like to reunite those Italian descendants with their families in Italy. The same for those of Javanese descent.

Now if the government has your ID, Proof of residence and your registered SIM Card under the RICA law, they will know whether you are male or female. How old you are, where you live in Sandton or Waterkloof Ridge, how many people live at that home…by tapping into your phone and those of the others living at that same address , they will know who is home and who is not. They can even tell how long it will take you to get home from where you currently are.
They can tell whether the parents are away.
They can tell whether the old people or your kids are home alone. They can tell whether your wife is home alone…This is the stuff the East German Stasi only dreamt of.
Now surely white people being violently attacked on a daily basis, cannot be this naïve. Surely, I cannot be the only one who can see through this scam. If the thieving, corrupt ANC government works together with criminal syndicates as we know they do, (Joe Modise, Jackie Selebi, Shabir Shaik, et al, being points in case ), then RICA can and will be used against the citizens of the country.
This law is an abomination and should be scrapped as soon as possible. You cannot trust the ANC with such information. It is the duty of every single South African citizen to resist this law as far as possible.
What I cannot understand is how judges and lawyers never opposed this law. Why do judges and lawyers never oppose any of these criminal laws?
